holy fuck, this restricts my breathing. it overwhelms me with aesthetic associations of nostalgia. what a soundtrack. what a game.
This is not a game . It is art 🙂 Unbelievably impressive whole thing 🙂 Best computer based generated thing I guess so 🙂
This game and the logo are actually about satanic virgin sacrifice as my series on the satanic explains indirectly. I know many prefer the Disney distortion of reality though, where things are more on the innocent side of things.
Just finished playing Shadow of the Colossus and Ico back-to-back both for the first time and- wow. Just wow, what timeless classics! This atmosphere, these feelings, are something I've never experienced before, yet strangely feels nostalgic. The old graphics and clunky controls are all part of the experience; wouldn't feel the same playing, say, the SotC remaster, for a first-time playthrough, I think. The original's very japanese aesthetics are perfect for the games.
I'd been putting off playing these for far too long.

Just played this game for the first time. The music and epic soundscapes are such big part of what makes this game so magical. I tried to be strong and not cry at the end 🙂 Playing Shadow of the Colossus now <3

15:44 This is hands down the creepiest fucking track holy shit… for some reason my brain pictures when this is playing I imagine Pablo Picassos painting of Guernica as the bombs come down… Don't ask me why… Also, The music really would fit a sort of horror game in Guernica after the bombings with monsters… I guess I'm not sleeping tonight

Darkness is just a amazing moment in the game's story-line. It's the moment where so many mysteries about the game are told just by observation; such as "What are the shadow monsters?", "Why was I placed in that stone cage in the beginning?" and "Where is anyone in this castle?"
SPOILERS DOWN BELOW
The reveal is that other people with horns were sent to the castle aswell and were somehow turned into the shadow creatures that you've fought off the entire game. It's a dark twist that is amazing because of how you just have to observe the last segment of the game to notice. Its a shame that some of the other mysteries of the game were ruined because the Shadow Queen just blandly expositioned it all.
